FC33 is excited to announce that Declan McGill has officially accepted a coaching spot with the club. Declan will be primarily working with U12 boys and girls. He will join Megan Gill and Russ Cope with those age groups.

Collegiate experience: Frostburg State University August 2015-June 2017
Assistant Men’s Coach
During his time as an assistant coach Declan played a pivotal role in scouting and recruiting prospective student-athletes. Scouting and analyzing playing style, key-players, set pieces, and areas of strength and weaknesses of future opponents. Created scouting reports based on this information. He designed and implementing team and individual practices in accordance to Frostburg’s playing style and game plan. He also has experience designing and implementing Goalkeeper practices. He implemented game day tactical management, using scouting reports as well as game analysis to create and execute a game plan. He finished his time at Frostburg with a record of 20-15-3 Record
Club experience: During his time in America Declan has coached several youth teams these included:
Elkins United Soccer Club Under 10 boys team from 2011-2013 where he was a Head and assistant coach during his time he developed and implemented practices with an aim to develop individual technical ability and group awareness. He took primary responsibility for player’s technical, group and social progress.
Seneca Soccer Club under 12 Girls Team from 2013-2015 he was a Head Coach where he developed and implemented practices with an aim to develop individual technical ability and group awareness. As well as an emphasis on tactical awareness. He took primary responsibility for player’s technical, tactical, group and social progress and updating parents as necessary.
While at Frostburg he was an assistant coach for Allegheny Soccer Alliance, under 14 Boys from 2015-2017, where his aim was to assist in coaching local youth players in an effort to create a pipeline into Frostburg State University and increase their soccer development.
As a player Declan played at Davis and Elkins College from 2011-2015 during his time he was a captain and teammate. He devoted 25+ hours per week to competition and practice, developing individual ability and the team’s ability technically, tactically, and work ethic. He lead the team through example as a captain and vice-captain and acted as liaison between the team members and coaching staff He finished with a 47-22-6 overall record.

Declan has a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education and a Master’s degree in Education. He is currently a Health and Physical Education teacher at South Preston k-8 School in Tunnelton WV.
